I was fired because I couldn't become | Review of working at umbrellait

Seven months ago, I received an offer from Umbrella. The first red flag was the work tracking software, which takes screenshots every 10 minutes. At first, they kept me on the bench for a month and a half, giving me "check-the-box" tasks. Then, they assigned me to a project where complete chaos began. The project was started from scratch, and the decision was made to use Camunda—this was the team lead's idea, but hardly anyone knew how to work with it properly. The team lead was soon removed, leaving the team without support. The "senior" analyst didn't understand Camunda or how to assign tasks at all. The manager would set tasks and demand that "everything be done," without even understanding the interaction between the front-end and back-end. The functional specification (FT) was constantly changing and was not kept up to date. We were writing the back-end based on one FT, while the front-end was expecting completely different data. The analyst would say, "Well, figure it out yourselves." The manager demanded a status report on tasks every 3 hours and constantly talked about tight deadlines. I completed all my tasks on time, but often the same task had to be redone due to frequent and extensive changes to the database. I was fired for the reason that I couldn't become an analyst, team lead, and developer all in one person, as they told me. According to the contract, they were supposed to give me three working days' written notice and pay me for those days. Instead, they just came to me one day and said, "You don't work here anymore. We're not going to pay you. You're already fired." When I pointed out that this was a breach of contract, they replied, "Well, there are no tasks, you have problems, we'll sort it out with the lawyer now." I said that I would also go to a lawyer—and in response, the HR representative started being openly rude. I do not recommend it. Not to any developer. This is a subjective opinion; it may differ from the truth. Source: https://t.me/nazarov_interviews/236
